- On reaction with water, it generates Acetylene gas which is used in cutting and welding of metals
- It is used as a vital element in Organic Synthesis Industry
- Calcium Carbide is also used in the production of Chloroprene Rubber, Pol-acetic Acid Ethylene, Polyvinyl alcohol, Acetylene Carbon Black, etc.
- It is a major raw material used in producing Lime Nitrogen and Dyad Hydrogen Amine.
